That's what's on my mind this Monday morn. We've got a new EP to record & money to save, but I just wanna get back on stage. I was hoping that'd happen this fall, but now it's looking more like the beginning of next year. Feels like an eternity.. wating... waiting... waiting...

Obedient Waves May Take A Hiatus

I have a secret, and I'm going to let you guys in on it first. It's not 100% for sure, but, after the double residencies we're doing in Bakersfield & Long Beach next month and then the lone show we've got out in Vegas, November 7, Obedient Waves may be taking a hiatus. After 8 eps in little more than 2 years and countless shows, we probably deserve a break, but it's really more about restructuring. We want to take some time off to save a shitload of money so we can a) make a proper full-length record that's NOT a home-studio project and b) afford to market & tour the dang thing. I've already got most of the songs written & hummed into my trusty lil tape-recorder, so I assure you, we will be back- most likely next spring. But, well, I'm feeling a lil wistfull already, so... Here's the last video we made for the Rock & Roll 4 President series back when we were just getting started. It's a cover of Sons & Daughter's "Gilt Complex".

Obedient Waves in Pomona

Hi guys.... any Pomona people out there? If so... come out to Aladdin Jr. tomorrow night for a kickass, all ages Obedient Waves show. It's being put on by The Glass House a few doors down & should be massively entertaining. We've been flirting with the idea of adding a bass player back into the mix, so this night will be especially memorable, as our new buddy, Ross, will be sitting in on the last three songs. He's got this whole Les Claypool thing happening and, really, it doesn't get any cooler than that.

The Nose Knows (lyrics)

Billy & I were out & about in Pasadena the other day & we ran into this dood, wearing this sign to try & get people to go into a wine tasting up the street. The sign read, "The Nose Knows", which is the title of a song off our second ep, so, of course, I had to get my picture taken with him. We re-recorded The Nose Knows with Timothy James of The Movies earlier this year for his Chermak Studios compilation, featuring some badass local acts like Stab City, Health, and The Seasons. That came out some time this summer, but I still haven't gotten a chance to get my hands on a copy.

Obedient Waves @ Friar Tucks Tonight

Dayum... where does the time go? I can never get to all the things I mean to do in a day & now all this social networking business (that's suppose to HELP my business) is causing even more time suckage than usual. I am truly baffled by how some people do it. How does one take a band to the masses, working at a level that actually pays the bills when there are a million other bands clamoring for the spotlight? Ditto for an artist. Unfortunately, I have both problems, and I don't know how else to be. Obedient Waves is playing Friar Tucks in Pomona in less than two hours and here I am just now putting this flyer up. Bad- starving artist. Bad! Bad!

Will Work For... Comic-Con?

Billy's working Comic-Con today as an audio guy. Using the ol' college degree... I'm stoopid jealous, because a) I do not have a college degree and b) I always thought we'd do Comic-Con TOGETHER for the very first time AND for... me! Me! It's all about ME! Waaaah!!! I wanna show my KOSHi stuff to all them adoring comic book fans, especially WiLL WORK FOR FOOD : A Coloring Book For Grown Ups. And here I sit, whacking off to the computer. No fair! NO FAiR, I say!

I think we shot this in 2007- took it down the following summer, then put it back up at the end of '08. Our legions of adoring fans demanded a repost!
