Just Another Manic Monday - 10/25/10

Longest friggin hiatus ever... Ugh- I miss Obedient Waves!

That's what's on my mind this Monday morn. We've got a new EP to record & money to save, but I just wanna get back on stage. I was hoping that'd happen this fall, but now it's looking more like the beginning of next year. Feels like an eternity.. wating... waiting... waiting...

Looky What I Found... The Black Angels Covering "I Wanna Be Your Dog". Damn- I Wanted To Do That For Obedient Waves' Come Back Show.

They did a great job, although I still think a girl performing those lyrics would give it a new twist. I'm not giving up the dream yet!

Which reminds me, not only is Obedient Waves long over due for a show, but we also need to get some live footage up on YouTube. Any of you watch the Rock & Roll 4 President series we did a couple of years ago? That was a blast. We should never have taken down the footage- would be fun to check it out now (if only to watch Dylan's afro grow!).

100% Guaranteed To See God : Arcade Fire Is Playing The Henry Miller Library In Big Sur Oct. 2

Big Sur, as anyone who knows me knows, is my favorite place on the planet. I got married there. I go often. I cry when it's time to leave. The Henry Miller Library is the reason I went there in the first place. I'm a little worried about it's getting over run with hipsters, but it's hard to keep a place that cool hush hush forever. Since working with FOLK Yeah, things have gotten deliciously way out of hand at the library. I saw Chris Robinson do an acoustic set there a ways back & hope to be one of the lucky f-ers sitting on the grass, under the ancient redwoods, listening to Arcade Fire making their beautiful beautifulness this fall.

Okay-That Last Post Got Me Going. Now We NEED To Have A Major Moment With The Libertines. Falling In Love All Over Again...

How is it that they make me feel both sad & happy at the very same time? Guess that's just the magic of rock & roll!

It chars my heart to hear you calling for the good old days..

If you're finding this post randomly & out of order, here's the original post that got me started on this jag. It's worth a click thru to hear my all time Libs fave, "What Became Of The Likely Lad"...
