Price w/Shipping (Choose Local)

"WiLL WORK FOR FOOD : A Coloring Book For Grown Ups" makes an AWESOME gift!

Blow off some steam, escape into your own little world, or just pass the time in a fun, sexy way with this whimsical, slightly twisted coloring book for grown ups.

"WiLL WORK FOR FOOD : A Coloring Book For Grown Ups", contains KOSHi's latest set of ink & paper illustrations paired with witty rhymes about what it is to be female in today's sex & celeb-obsessed culture and is left colorless for you to customize with your own unique touch. So, bust out the crayons and get to work enhancing the beauty that is:

- A silly yet proud display of women & boobies to love in all shapes and sizes
- Psychedelic escape fantasies including dark portraits of Alice in Wonderland and Tinkerbell
- Fashion models & illustrations, complete with rude and snarky commentary
- Paris Hilton with a precariously placed coin slot in "The Best Things In Life Are Free"
- A portrayal of Pete Doherty tempting Kate Moss with a nasty spoon from the great beyond

I USED TO BE A LITTLE GiRL (poetry sample)

I tried to hide
My sex, my smile
Tried to walk
In single file
Tried to hurry
Tried to push
Tried to bury
Tried to shshsh
I tried to cut me
Down to size
Tried to see things
Thru your eyes...
But I got bored.

SYBiL

I posted this new illustration, SYBiL, in the shop late last night. This is one that I actually finished months ago for STiTCHES, a series I'll be working on this year & next. Don't know what I'm gonna do with it when it's done. I'll probably look for a little east side gallery show to join & sell off the originals then. In the meantime, the reproduction prints'll be available at KOSHi SHOP for eighteen bucks a pop.

HOOKA BiRD

There's a new lady in the house... Skye aka "HOOKA BiRD" just joined the other lovelies at KOSHi SHOP and soon will be living between the pages of my next book, PRETTY BAD : A Coloring Book For Grown Ups. I say, "soon", but who knows how long it'll take me to finish. I always underestimate the time I'll need. Guess that makes me an optimist?

Anne Cresci w/subtitles

All that purple! Could Anne Cresci be any cuter? I think maybe the French is helping that cause- so charming. Love watching her illustration process & hearing that self-depreciating giggle...

Anne Cresci subtitling from Laurencefabrice on Vimeo.

Now, I feel all kinds of inspired & hopeful for my lil KOSHi SHOP!

But, really, this post isn't about me. It's about Anne Cresci and her darling Matilou on etsy. Go there now!

So Much Trying

I am beaten, broke & bleary eyed from all the trying that has taken place this past week...

I officially launched KOSHi SHOP &, after reading many How To articles & one How To e-book, attending a couple of Virtual Labs, mondo studying of Etsy's top sellers, and ruthless forum cruising, made all of ONE sale...

Finished mixing & posted RUMBLE FiSH on Obedient Waves' MySpace page for streaming & pre-orders (avail Aug. 21)...

Been booking( ie. emailing my brains out) a few mini regional tours for Obedient Waves this fall...

And finally sold out to TWiTTER.

Words of wisdom & encouragement, please! I need them to do it all again next week.

xo -Jo

Kate & The Devil

This print is the latest addition to my lil KOSHi SHOP. It's an illustration I did back in the Will Work For Food days & I still really like it.

WiLL WORK FOR FOOD : A Coloring Book For Grown Ups

Ha! I did it. Finally! The first item is officially for sale on KOSHi SHOP. (Re)introducing... Will Work For Food : A Coloring Book For Grownups!

WiLL WORK FOR FOOD (poetry samples)

"WiLL WORK FOR FOOD : A Coloring Book For Grownups" is more than just a bunch of racy, girlie illustrations. It's also a poetry book & the precursor to the lyrics I now write for Obedient Waves. Here's a little of what you'll find inside...

-PRETTY YOUNG

A teenage girl
Is queen of the world
But she doesn't know it
A teenage girl's
A powerful pearl
But she will outgrow it
Flesh that springs up
Toward the sky
Her pouting lip
That hollow thigh

A tender button
Comes easily undone
With their greedy fingers
A tender button's
Fooling no one
Her value never lingers
Flesh grows slack
More by the day
Youth-stung lovers
Never stay

-TRIPLE PLATINUM

I hear it in the blurbs they say
And in the way they don't say
I see it in their expressionless faces
They feel nothing
And they're content
They rise and sleep
At scheduled hours
Clean and work and fuck in time
They dress to blend in monied ways
They are monied
Because they followed life's rules:
Born to wealthy parents
Bred by humble nannies
Sent to college
Sent to work
Sent to ski white alps
And they did not suffer
Nor enjoy one minute of it

-SHADY

The comfort of the shade
Is brief and cold
The air dappled with gold
Beyond the leafy border
Where the healthy ones play
Their faces upturned to the sun
Feet bare and unfettered
No cares
Not one
Past the filling of time
That I squander
Resting
Hiding in the long low limbs
Of my tree
My shroud
Making night
Waiting for that perfect cloud
To step into the light

Heart Of Dragon

I woke up this morning (the morning that I intend to FiNALLY post my work for sale on Etsy) to find a very friendly message from a fellow writer & self-publisher, which was just the push I needed. As you may have gathered, I'm a wicked procrastinator. Fear is a bitch! Which brings me to Jim Roberts aka Heart Of Dragon, writer of said message. He's also the writer of this perfect little poem about fear. Here's an excerpt of that, an excerpt of an exerpt from his book, With A Subtle Touch Of Understanding : Volume 3...

"Fear is a religion,
some cast their whole life around it.
Cause and effect become as if rules
to follow, never able to venture out,
or stray..."

(THANK YOU, Jim!)
