Muse Does Depeche Mode

Is this legal? Muse is very clearly ripping off -er paying "homage" to Depeche Mode's "Strangelove" with their new tune, "Undisclosed Desires", which you can stream now at Stereogum. I don't really have a problem with musicians borrowing from other bands, as long as they acknowledge the nod, and I like Muse, so I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt here. They probably went through the proper channels. It's just... well, Music For The Masses was such a good moment in time. I don't really want to see it watered down for future generations...
