The September Issue

Billy took me to see The September Issue for my birthday yesterday, and I absolutely loved it. I was surprised to find that it was Grace Coddington, the film's real protagonist, that came out smelling of roses, and not at all shocked that Anna Wintour appeared as the villain. Wintour's most human moments came courtesy of a visit with her bright, unimpressed daughter. It was a trip to see the ice queen vying for any one's approval, much less a junior, but fitting, I suppose, that it should be her own offspring that would ultimately crack her most infamous crust.
