The first release from Patti Smith's new LP of covers, "Twelve", is her own rendition of the Rollingstone's "Gimme Shelter". She sure makes us wait a long time before her gravely-cool vocals finally kick in, but once they do, it's worth it. You can listen to the MP3 here, thanks (again) to Pitchfork.
