Day 2 of fashion week left me feeling a little underwhelmed & recalling how much I prefer the European collections. I want to prefer my homeland (really, I do) and be Lil' Miss Patriotic, but where's the imagination? Karen Walker tried to spice up an otherwise drab collection with shots of electric blue & blood-orange, Alexandre Herchcovitch topped some confused ensembles with out-there hats, and Toni Maticevski did manage to work some interesting new shapes & cuts into his clothes. But whatever... yawn. Alice Roi's collection was so depressing & totally unrecognizable to me. I was counting on her! Thank goodness for Ruffian's mechanic's coveralls & sleek, futuristic fabrics & Threeasfour's color block kimono & asymetrical silks. They salvaged my otherwise Ba-Hum-Bug mood.
