Ew! Ew! Ew! Somebody help me... A very long time ago, my friend, Wandie, told me that Devendra Banhart, (LOVE!), had gone out with... this is realy hard for me to say... Lindsey Lohan. I absolutely refused to believe it, cuzz like that's impossible, right? So, I put it out of my mind with a stiff dose of denial until this morning, when I saw this story on NME... Devendra is making her mixed CDs for rehab? And publicly talking about it? This means that a) he at least knows & likes her to some degree and b)he is unashamed. Now, I think I have fallen a little bit (I said a LITTLE) out of love. Here's what he said...

"I made two mix CDs for her. I put Nico, Vashti Bunyan, Captain Beefheart, Caetano Velso and Joanna Newsome on there.

"She totally dug them. We ended up talking about Fleetwood Mac who we're both obsessed with." 

Of her recovery, he said, "I haven't talked to her recently. She's taking care of herself. I'm trying to give her some space, because I think now is a tough time for her."


He's right. It must be a tough time for her & now it's a tough time for ME. Damn it!

Pete Doherty & Amy Winehouse?!

Remember when I did this illustration of Pete Doherty tempting Kate Moss with a spoon from the great beyond? Looks like I may need to do a revision soon.... Petie Pie has just announced that he & his band, Babyshambles, recently recorded a song for their new album with Amy Winehouse, one of my favorite favorites. Actually, I like all three of these folks immensely, and, obviously, from afar, but I can't help but wonder if this isn't the best idea. I mean, musically, I say YES! YES! YES! But you know... there's that little problem with their respective & admittedly fragile new sobriety. And we all know that Kate The Great was not done well by the Doherty influence. So, I say, with much love & respect...
