KOSHi LUVS... Mary Gordon

Mary Gordon is a bad ass. She wrote one of my all time fave books, "Spending", which is pure magic. She also wrote an excellent, epic tale called "Pearl", a biography on Joan Of Arc & many other good books. I was stoked to see that she'd won the third annual Story Prize, but a little weirded out to find that her reward was a measly $20,000. What the heck? This woman is accomplished! Twenty grand doesn't go very far these days. Oh well, I doubt she's complaining.

Wunderkind Fall 2007

Wunderkind is wonderful. Love the desert-goth feel & exquisite tailoring, especially the pleats.

Viktor & Rolf Fall 2007

So... this is different. The models at the Viktor & Rolf show were forced to parade -er hobble down the runway, contending with these heavy metal contraptions & awkward wooden clogs. The clothes were pleasant enough, but mainly, you've gotta give em an "A" for effort on presentation alone. Hope they all had their pre-show protein.

Rick Owens Fall 2007

Let's here it for Bakersfield! Whoop! Whoop! Rick Owens is from my hometown, offering more proof that a liberal-minded, edgy creative talent can emerge from a predominantly republican, conservative environment.

Felines & Primates Unite!

Aaaaawwww... Some zoo baby tigers & orangutans have made friends, something that would never happen in their natural habitat. The unlikely bunch have become enthusiastic playmates, play fighting, teasing each other & napping together. This cuteness is so huge as to render me mush.

Balmain Fall 2007

The upcoming season of Balmain will be very young, very cool, very rock & roll. The look is skimpy but simple, despite the sequins & fringe. I can totally picture someone like V.V. from The Kills in this stuff.

New Deerhoof Video

I like this video for Deerhoof's "The Perfect Me". It's very slap-dash, which creates a cool juxtaposition against the busy song. Reminds me of something Sonic Youth might do...

Angelina Jolie & Mia Farrow

Two of Tinsel Town's loveliest ladies, both official ambassadors of goodwill, are trying to get our attention about something that is far more concerning than the war in Iraq, which, if you ask me, is really just an elaborate ploy to control the world's oil- a fuel that should have been deemed obsolete a long time ago.
These women are risking their privelaged lives to try to show us something important. The least we can do is see what they have to say...

Please CLiCK here to read about MiA FARROW's recent trip to refugee camps along border areas of Sudan's Darfur region.

& CLiCK here to read about the two day mission ANGELiNA JOLiE just made to eastern Chad, which enabled her to assess how the security situation has deteriorated for Sudanese refugees since her last visit to Chad three years ago.(This Article Written By The Angelina Jolie)

Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2007

Paris aint the fashion capitol of the world for nothing. My word! Show after show is just blowing me away. Jean Paul Gaultier is no exception. I want one of everything! Love the plaid. Love the lace. Love the style & the grace!.

Christian Dior Fall 2007

What can I say about John Galliano that you don't already know? The man is a genius, the king of fashion. I feel like I'd be making quite an ass out of myself trying to critique his Fall collection for Dior. Obviously, it's perfection. Duh.

Comme des Garçons Fall 2007

Cotton candy. That's the first thing that sprang to mind when I saw the pretty in pastel Comme des Garçons collection. Pastels? For Fall? Now that's fresh. The presentation scared me a little bit... Minnie Mouse ears, frizzy fros & neon eye shadow, oh my! But forget that. The fashion was smashin'...

Balenciaga Fall 2007

Nicolas Ghesquière just hit a major home run for Balenciaga. The show's styling was pretty whacky, but if you can look beyond that, you'll find some very wearable, sophisticated pieces. To die for! I'd love to get my mitts on this pink & black structured jacket. Wouldn't it look smashing with jeans and a clean white tee?

Ann Demeulemeester Fall 2007

Ann Demeulemeester is nothing if not consistent, consistently edgy, consistently dark, consistently cool. You know I'm ms. anti-black, but when it's done well, I can't help but have respect for that. Plus, she did use some ivory to lighten things up this time around.

Ellen = Best Oscar Host

What is going on? Why in the heck are all these critics criticizing my Ellen? Don't listen to em. She did a fabulous job hosting The Academy Awards. She was funny, upbeat & looked terrific in her various pant suits. They're just bitter that she's not bitter. It's called "happiness", people. Try it sometime. You might like it.

Hef To Marry His #1 Girl

KOSHi's DiRTY LITTLE SECRET: I watch "The Girls Next Door". And I like it. Apparently, I don't really understand myself. I'm suppose to be a feminist. I'm suppose to think Hef is a dirty old man. But I LUV this show & can't stop watching it. I used to hide it from my fiance, lest he call me a hypocrite(deservedly), but I got tired of the charade. Holly, Bridget & Kendra are so girlie. Their lives, at least the edited versions, seem so carefree, silly & fun. (Note: The show does NOT depict their three way sexual relationship w/an 80 year old man). God, I feel guilty just writing this. Oh well, it's the truth. And what's more, I'm happy for Holly Madison, the number one girlfriend, because it looks like she's finally going to get her long-held wish come true. She's going to be Mrs. Hugh Hefner, probably by the end of next season. Granted, it would be more meaningful off camera, as her man is using the blessed event as a blatant ratings booster, but I have a feeling she won't mind. It's one big easy, breezy, sweet-n-sleezey cheese-fest at the mansion. Congrats, darlin'!

+Although Bridget & Kendra seem like sweet, enthusiastic people, Holly is my fave. She's got a little more edge, some talent (she can draw like me!), & an interest in running Playboy one day, which may be why Hef has her number. He's no dummy, at least not in business. You can get a better since of what she's like here... (Warning: this is a blatant PR puff piece)

Theodora Richards On NYLON TV

Besides Lula, which is the yummiest brain candy evah, Nylon is my favorite fashion zine. It just suits my personality & continues to shock me with inspiration. With every new issue, I'm either whining, "Hey- I've been doing that for years!" or "Dang, why didn't I think of that?" The art department is brilliant, threading lil' bits of illustration & collage throughout. Unfortunately, they have yet to get wise to my dazzling KOSHi-ness, but, ya know, all in good time... Now they've taken their website, which used to have very little content, to a whole new dimension. In the past, I was disappointed when I'd swing by to get a quick fix, only to find it quite empty & static. Apparently those days are over. Now you can CLiCK HERE to see a NYLON TV clip of Marvin Scott Jarrett talking to Theodora Richards (Rollingstone offspring) about her bottom. That's kinda entertaining, right?

Suh-Suh-Suh-Smokin' Hot Men

Let's here it for the boys!

(Pictured top to bottom: Diego Luna, Clive Owen, Djimon Hounsou, Daniel Craig, Gael Garcia Bernal)

More Red Carpet 2 LUV

Here's more glamorous gals to give ya a good drool. Rachel Weisz just kills me... so gorgeous, so talented, so smart & kind-hearted. Remind me again why she's not the world's biggest movie star?

(pictured top to bottom: Reese Witherspoon, Kate Winslet, Nicole Kidman, Rachel Weisz, Emily Hunt)

Oscar Red Carpet Fashion

Red carpet still in progress... such fun... here are some favorites so far... Doesn't Helen Mirren look beautiful? And Penelope Cruz? I wanna be spectacular too. That's it, I'm going to put on my poofiest dress right now.

(pictured top to bottom : Penelope Cruz, Cate Blanchett, Helen Mirren, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rinko Kikuchi, Portia Di Rossi)

Arcade Fire On SNL

I'm outta my head thinking about the fact that I get to see Arcade Fire live this year at Coachella. Me so so very super duper & deeply excited. They were the musical guests on SNL last night & did a smashing job. Literally. Check it out here...

And here...

***And don't forget what I told you about NME streaming their upcoming release, Neon Bible, on the 26th. That's tomorrow!

World Leader, Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie has been invited to join Dick Cheney, Condoleezza Rice, Henry Kissinger, Colin Powell and Alan Greenspan as a member of the prestigious Council on Foreign Relations, thanks to her work advocating for refugees, AIDS orphans and disaster victims. This girl has evolved into such the lady. It's been so much fun watching her go from a tortured, confused teen waif to this... Impressive, to say the least, & the council appears to need some liberal, albeit sexy, blood.

***I've loved Angie since forever & will take her any which way, scandalous or saintly. It's all good to me. Hence, I drew this pic... Whadya think?

Spirit Awards Best Dressed

I was going to post all the best dressed ladies from The Independent Spirit Awards' red carpet, but there were so many good looking, stylish women that I literally had over 25 pics drug onto my laptop before I finally decided to chuck em all in the trash and, for cryin' out loud, force myself to pick just one, which turned out to be not so hard. Michelle Williams looked springy fresh & happy in love. Cute lil' pixie mom.

Cameron To Be Crucified

My mother is going to absolutely die when she hears this... James Cameron has supposedly found the tomb of Jesus (yes, THAT Jesus) & can verify that he did not rise from the dead, was married to Mary Magdelene, and spawned the son of the son of God with her. If you've read or watched The Davinci Code, this won't be a total shock. If you are a Christian, like mommy, you're probably going to want to riot in the streets.

KOSHi LUVS... Clive Owen

So F*CKiNG DELiCiOUS! I don't usually post paparazzi pics here, but I can't resist this time. Justjared.com put up this photo gallery of Clive Owen arriving in town for The Oscars. Thank God "Children Of Men", an AMAZiNG film, was nominated for something, or else he'd have no proper reason to attend tomorrow's show. He's presenting, you know.

You'll always be my 007, Clive!

FOR THE RECORD: Clive Owen may be the hottest hottie in Hollyweird, but even he can not touch my one & only... BiLLY.
